Class Description
Are you interested in learning Danish? Are you a rank beginner? Join this 4-week SLI course and start your language journey today! Our supportive class atmosphere is perfect for new students looking to learn the basics of the language, including pronunciation, greetings, simple exchanges, basic numbers, foods, and polite ways to ask for help. With a relaxed conversational approach, questions and conversational “bunny trails” are welcome (within reason 😉) You'll also have opportunities for reading, listening, and writing. There is no textbook, but handouts will be provided by the instructor. This course is meant to give you a "leg up" on Danish, and the information learned in "Get-Your-Feet-Wet" will be repeated at the beginning of DAN 1A in the Spring, so you will be able to deepen your familiarity with the wiles and ways of Danish through repetition before continuing forward in the longer DAN 1A course, which lasts 9 weeks from April - June. Note, these are not "total immersion" classes. Instead, students and instructor will lay the foundations of understanding through English, while easing into Danish with dialogues and short exchanges. Cancellation Policy
JOINING LATE: Students can join this class by paying full tuition up until, but not including, the 2nd class meeting. (That is, you can pay for the whole course and come to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th class meetings). STUDENT ENROLLMENT CANCELLATION: Students can cancel their booking online up to 24 hours before the class starts. They may also cancel anytime before the 2nd class by contacting SLI (425-773-5370/admin@scanlnag.org) and receive a full refund minus a small processing fee. After the 2nd class and before the 3rd class, students can request that their prorated tuition be applied to another current or future SLI class (any language or culture class). SLI COURSE CANCELLATION: If the course is cancelled due to low enrollment, full refunds will be issued without a processing fee or students may opt to have their tuition held and applied toward another class.
