Class Description
This class is especially for absolute beginners. We will begin by easing into Danish pronunciation and how it relates to spelling (in surprising ways!). We'll practice with dialogues and "question/answer" activities. Themes include greetings, basic questions/answers, indicating likes/dislikes, making suggestions, and going places. We'll take a look at some of the grammar basics, and you'll get tips about expressing politeness in a language that has no one word for "please" but a million ways to say thank you! We'll use a combination of textbook pages (colloquial Danish, 2nd edition), "handouts" that will be shared online during class and/or sent to you in an email, and self-study supplemental materials available online exclusively to students in the class. Cancellation Policy
Students can join this class by paying full tuition after the course starts. Students can cancel their booking online up to 24 hours before the class starts. They may also cancel anytime before the 2nd class by contacting SLI (425-773-5370/admin@scanlnag.org) and receive a full refund minus a small processing fee. After the 2nd class and before the 3rd class, students can request that their prorated tuition be applied to another current or future SLI class (any language or culture class). If the course is cancelled due to low enrollment, full refunds will be issued without a processing fee or students may opt to have their tuition held and applied toward another class.
