*DAN 1C/2A: Adv. Beginning-Intermediate

Ended
187 US dollars

Class Description

This course already shows the discounted price for members of NWDA. No need to put a code in at checkout (you already used a code to get to this page!) For those with a bit of solid knowledge of Danish who have taken DAN 1B and/or DAN1C or equivalent. We'll start with some refreshers on Danish pronunciation and conversation and move toward increasing your ability to use and expand your vocabulary, ask and answer yes/no and open questions, communicate in polite ways, tell about subjects that interest you, fix breakdowns in conversation without resorting to English, and talk about yourself in conversation. We'll also get more comfortable with the complex spelling-pronunciation interface and the bizarre Danish number system! This course will be team taught by Melissa Lucas (who has gone through the process of learning Danish as an adult and is proof that you can do it!) and Celine Anderson - who was born and raised in Denmark and whose pronunciation is remarkably accomplished! :<) Please download the textbook "Colloquial Danish (3rd edition)" before class. It is free: https://ia801209.us.archive.org/17/items/ColloquialDanish/Colloquial%20Danish.pdf

LATE ENROLLMENT Students may join classes any time between the 1st and 3rd weeks by paying full tuition. If you have any problem enrolling online, contact SLI (admin@scanlang.org; Ph 425-773-5370) STUDENTS WITHDRAWING FROM OR CHANGING CLASSES If a student wants to leave a class, there are 4 possibilities open to them: 1) Move to another class (available up to and including the 3rd class day) 2) Receive a tuition credit from SLI, prorated if applicable. 3) Receive a full or partial refund, as described below (available up to and including the 2nd class day). 4) Donate the tuition to SLI (always available). DETAILS (to implement any of these options, please call 425-773-5370 or write to admin@scanlang.org) 1) Move to another class. You may move to a different class (even to a different language!) up to (and including) the 3rd class as long as the instructor of your new class agrees. After the 3rd class, this option is no longer available. Moving to Another Class: Tuition Differences. If the New Course costs MORE: the student will pay the difference between the amounts. If the New Course costs LESS: SLI will apply the difference to a future class, issue a refund for it, or the student can donate it to SLI. 2) Apply the tuition to a later class. You may request that SLI keep your tuition and apply it toward another class in the future. When you take the later class, please do not book online. Instead, contact SLI and tell us which class you want to apply your credit to. 3) Receive a refund. Contact SLI for a refund before (but NOT including) the 3rd class day to completely withdraw from a class, and you will be issued a full refund minus a minimal processing fee (i.e. you will have 2 classes to decide whether you want to stay or withdraw). 4) Donate. If you wish to donate the money to SLI, let us know and we will issue you a receipt. Remember that donations are tax-deductible. We thank you! COURSE CANCELLATION This will occur if enrollment is too low. We will notify you, and you can decide which option you want. No processing fees will be withheld - you get back all of what you paid.
