DAN 1A: Beginning (In-Person in Seattle)

Class Description

This class meets at the National Nordic Museum in Seattle (Ballard neighborhood). PLEASE GO TO THE MUSEUM'S WEBSITE TO SIGN UP: https://nordicmuseum.org/events/danish-language-classes This course is especially for absolute beginners. We will begin by easing into Danish pronunciation and how it relates to spelling (in surprising ways!). We'll practice with dialogues and "question/answer" activities. Themes include greetings and small talk, biographical info, food & drink, "good to know" phrases, and more. We'll take a look at some of the grammar basics, and you'll get tips about expressing politeness in a language that has no one word for "please" but a million ways to say thank you! The instructor will bring handouts.
