SLI has a "quarter system" schedule that roughly follows the beginning/ending times of the University of Washington:
That said, specific courses or seminars may run only 1-6 weeks (this is often true of the Culture Courses) and start/end dates may vary from those given above.
Our courses are taught by skilled teachers who work for us in addition to another (or other) job(s). Their schedules are often highly fluid and dependent on many factors. To retain teachers with excellent teaching skills, SLI provides them with scheduling latitude.
As soon as all the instructors of 1 language team have their schedules set, they are posted. We aim for 1 month prior to the beginning of classes, but sometimes events and unknowns prevent this, so they may get posted as late as 1 week before classes begin.
SLI gives its teachers flexibility and control over their own class schedules, which means they are at their best when they are teaching you! Because a specific start date is not imposed on them, the schedules do tend to vary within the general "Quarter System" structure. (See "When do you start new classes during the year?")
